Painting Company Gives Social Housing A Makeover

Victoria, BC – White Knight Painting has chosen Pacifica Housing as this year’s winner for their annual Charity Give Away.

This year Pacifica Housing will be the recipient of a generous donation of $3500 worth of painting services from White Knight Painting to upgrade the community room in Waterview, one of their five supported housing complexes.

Each of Pacifica’s supported housing complexes holds a community room where tenants can come together and partake in therapeutic programs like art groups, community meals, movie nights, yoga classes, knitting groups, and Saturday coffee groups.

Pacifica is thrilled to work with White Knight Painting and give the Waterview room a complete makeover. Pacifica will contribute additional countertop space to better facilitate community meals, and furnishings that are better suited to the space.

Waterview tenants gather on a regular basis in the community room to partake in community meals, Saturday coffee groups, and regular movie nights. The space is also available for people living at Waterview to sit and gather socially in a comfortable environment.

“It’s a great feeling to see the businesses in our community care about the people we house, and feel inspired to help us do it better,” said Dean Fortin, Executive Director of Pacifica Housing.

“Pacifica had a very clear vision for how they wanted to grow their community room and we knew that our services would go to creating a space for people to feel belonging, and community. This is what turns housing into homes,” said Sonja Fuchs, of White Knight Painting.

The painting and upgrades are expected to take place at the end of March until early April.
