As a free volunteer resource for dozens of local charitable organizations, the Super Heroes of Victoria are always lending a helping hand, and have publicly recognized the support from Hotel ZED as their “Sponsor of the Year” for the property’s on-going support.
Hotel ZED has provided not only much-needed financial support each year, but has also supported the Super Heroes of Victoria in all of their ventures. They have promoted events through social media, appeared at events with the Zed Bus, and invited the organization to join Hotel ZED at community events.
Hotel ZED was chosen for its ongoing support of the organization’s efforts, both during charitable events and in the planning stages of many of their activities. While the Super Heroes of Victoria assist on an average of five community and charitable events a month, the group also organizes their own annual events and programs such as:
- Super Hero Kids Day (teaching kids about local heroes – sixth annual in 2016)
- Super Hero Photo Shoot (in support of the BC Children’s Hospital – seventh annual in 2016)
- The Superhero Literacy Tour (reading to children at schools – ongoing all year)
By promoting volunteerism in the community the organization encourages anyone to be a super hero with more than 50 costumes on hand for anyone to ‘suit up’ and help whenever and however they can.
In addition to awarding Hotel ZED with their 2015 Sponsor of the Year award, the Superheroes of Victoria has shown its thanks by assisting in the creation and uniform for Corporal Zed, the Hotel ZED’s own superhero.
