Chemistry Consulting Reports Increase in Tourism Industry

February 2016 was a ‘leap year’ for tourism
“For a month that is often viewed as the best time of the year for Canadians to escape somewhere warm and sunny, the performance of Victoria’s tourism sector in February made a big ‘leap’ relative to last year with occupancy up almost 4% and RevPAR up almost $11. As long as oil prices and the value of the Canadian dollar remain low, Victoria’s tourism industry will reap the benefits,” says Frank Bourree, partner at Chemistry Consulting.

Nanaimo Tourism experiencing solid year-over-year increases
“Nanaimo’s February tourism indicators showed solid year-over-year increases. In addition to significant growth in ferry and airport numbers (which are partially attributable to the extra day in February), the acommodation sector saw a 6.5% occupancy increase and strong Rev PAR growth.” says Frank Bourree, partner at Chemistry Consulting.
